Daniel Hilpert is the founder and managing director of Equicap, a real estate investment and development firm based in New York. Since establishing the business in 2002, he has built it into a multidisciplinary platform that bridges finance, design, and construction—developing luxury homes in the Hamptons and structuring complex real estate capital across the U.S.
Over the past two decades, Daniel has arranged and advised on more than $10 billion in debt and equity transactions, working with an international network of private equity firms, family offices, and institutional lenders. Today, Equicap’s focus extends beyond financial structuring into ground-up residential development, with an emphasis on architectural integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term value creation.
In 2019, Daniel expanded his creative footprint by founding EQ Magazine, an in-house luxury publication that explores automotive culture, design, watches, and architecture. Rooted in the heritage of motoring and the art of engineering, EQ has become a platform for storytelling around performance, innovation, and aesthetics.
Daniel holds a degree from Columbia University, where he has also served as a guest lecturer in real estate finance. He sits on several advisory boards, including Hilbert 8, a New York–based hedge fund, and is active in educational and philanthropic initiatives supporting design and entrepreneurship.
Outside of work, Daniel divides his time between East Hampton and New York City, where he continues to design, build, and paint—pursuing the same ideals that define his approach to business and art: creativity, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
